Coordinating with partner water utilities on a regional plan
LOTT’s conservation program is guided by a Water Conservation Coordination Plan that is developed for each six-year planning period. The current plan was adopted for the period 2013 through 2018 and includes a goal of reducing wastewater flow by at least 175,000 gallons per day by 2018. Plan activities are funded through LOTT's Capital Budget to support programs that reduce water going "down the drain" to the treatment plants.
An interagency Water Conservation Coordinating Committee implements the projects in the plan. The committee is facilitated by LOTT and includes water utility staff from Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater.
