LOTT’s most popular tour is the Budd Inlet Treatment Plant. Tours of this state-of-the-art facility take 40 minutes to 2 hours. This is an indoor-outdoor tour in a highly industrial facility – it is not appropriate for most children under the age of ten. Tour attendees should dress for the weather and wear secure, close-toed shoes. Public tours of the plant are offered on Saturdays several times a year. Call (360) 664-2333 to find out about the next public Saturday tour.
Teachers can schedule tours of the Budd Inlet Treatment Plant for their classes. The tours are geared to school-aged children, 5th grade and up. These tours must be scheduled at least three weeks in advance. Tours are often paired with an educational presentation.
Tours of other LOTT facilities also can be arranged. Tour sites include LOTT’s green office building, the Budd Inlet Reclaimed Water Plant, Martin Way Reclaimed Water Plant, and the Hawks Prairie Reclaimed Water Ponds and Recharge Basins.
