Pete Kmet, Board Member
Pete Kmet has served on the Tumwater City Council for 18 years. He was recently re-elected for his third 4-year term as Mayor, and served as Mayor Pro Tem prior to that. Pete recently retired as a Senior Environmental Engineer with the Washington State Department of Ecology. He is a registered professional engineer in Washington State. He holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Norwich University in Vermont and a Master of Science in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition to his role as mayor, Pete also serves as chair of the city’s Budget and Finance Committee and represents the city on the regional Transportation Improvement Policy Board.
